Defining Active Directory Domains is are used to import Active Directory Users users and Groups groups and perform tasks with Active Directory accounts. Active Directory Domains are available when Arellia Directory Services Solution is installed. To access this section:

  • Go to Arellia Security Manager and click on the Policies tab
  • Select Policies > Arellia > Local Security > Resources > Active Directory Domains

Before creating an Active Directory domainDomain, you will need to create an Active Directory credential that can import users and groups. Altiris Pluggable Protocol Architecture must be installed to access this feature.

To create an Active Directory credential, do the following steps:

  • Go to Settings > Monitoring and Alerting > Credential Settings > Credential Management
  • Click Add Credential
  • Enter the details for a credential that can import users and groups.
  • Click OK

  • Go to Local Security > Resources
  • Click New
  • Right click on the New Active Directory Domain and select Edit
  • In the Name field, enter a fully qualified domain name for the Active Directory domain
  • Select the credential defined in the Credentials drop down
  • Click Save Changes
  • Once the Saved Changes is displayed in the top of the window, you can close the window.

With an Active Directory domain defined, you can now run tasks that involve domain resources.
