titleRequired Components

If you upgrade to the latest version of AMS, then upgrading Arellia 7.5 or 8.0 to 8.1 you must first upgrade Microsoft SQL Server Data Tier Application Framework (DACFx) to June 2014 or later.

Failure to do so may result in installation errors (see Upgrade Arellia Management Server below).

The framework consists of the following components which must be installed in order:

  1. Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Transact-SQL ScriptDom
  2. Microsoft System CLR Types for Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (x86)
  3. Microsoft System CLR Types for Microsoft SQL Server 2014 (x64)
  4. Microsoft SQL Server Data-Tier Application Framework (DACFx) for x64 (June 2014)
  5. Microsoft SQL Server Data-Tier Application Framework (DACFx) for x86 (June 2014)

New installations of Arellia Management Server will automatically install the correct version of DACFx.

Tip

To automate the installation of the DACFx (June 2014) package you can download and run this PowerShell script on your internet connected AMS instance.
