In this scenario, the end user has the following installed:

On the managed computer, create the Microsoft Word document C:\document\important document.doc.
In the Altiris Symantec Management Console, select the Tasks tab.on the Home menu, click Arellia > Application Control
In the left pane, select Tasks > Security Management > select Policies > Application Control > Application Control >
Windows > Application Control Tasks > Manage Applications.
In the right pane, click Image Removed and select Run an application in an SVS layer.
In Step 1 of the Application Control Wizard, click Next.
In Step 2, select MS Word as the Include Filter.
In Step 3, configure the policy details as follows, and click Finish: Select EnablePolicies
Right-click Application Control Policies and select New > Run Application in SVS Layer

Configure the policy details as follows:
- Enable the policy using the On/Off toggle.
- Name - Run Microsoft Word in an SVS layer.
- Description - Capture Microsoft Word data in an SVS layer.
- Select MS Word as the Include Filter.
- Save changes to the policy
In Microsoft Word, create a document and save it to C:\document\suspect document.doc.
Close Microsoft Word.
Verify the document is not visible in Windows Explorer; it has been isolated by the layer.
Disable the policy and attempt to open the document. The document will no longer exist as the layer is no longer active for Microsoft Word.
