Resources Tab

Folders and items in the Resources tab can be found by selecting Resource Management > Resources > Software Management > File Inventory in the left pane.

You can double-click on any resource in the resource folders to launch the Resource
Manager console. This console shows details about that resource.

Application Control Solution creates no default collections. To create collections that fit your needs, see Altiris Notification Server Help.

Resource Parameter Collections

Resource Parameter Collection is a new collection type that allows parameters to be configured by a user, without the need for any custom SQL programming. Templates include:

? Package executable contents

? MSI executable contents

? Reference System File Scan Results

? Security Catalog Contents

To create a resource parameter collection

1. In the Altiris Console, select the Resources tab.

2. In the left pane, right-click Resource Management > Collections > Software
Management > File Inventory.

3. Select New > select template.

4. In the right pane, specify settings for the following fields:

Item Description

Name Enter a collection name. Description The description of the collection.
Applies To Select a collection the policy will apply to.

Item Description

Membership Update Specify whether to manually or automatically update the collection membership.
Computers Select managed computers to be added to the collection. Computer Collection Select collections of computers to be added to the
collection.

(Catalog) Reporting
Filter

Choose from any existing file inventory filters.
Query The editable query automatically created by the collection. Inclusions Choose specific resources and collections to include in the
collection.

Exclusions Choose specific resources and collections to exclude in the collection.
