Manual Security Rating

Manual Security Ratings are generally not used, but are included for backward compatibility with ACS 6.1.  Typically combinations of Reference System whitelists, Package Contents whitelists and trust based Dynamic Filters are used instead of manual Security Ratings.

Application Control Solution lets you rate all discovered applications. You can rate executables as Blacklist, Orangelist, Unclassified or Whitelist which automatically adds them to the appropriate collections.  These Manual Security Rating collections can be used for filtering when creating Application Control policies.

To manage the applications:

  • Once you are in Arellia select the Policies tab
  • Select Arellia > Application Control > Filters > Inventory Filters > Security Rated

To rate an application's security:

  • Anyway where a file is listed in a report you can right-click the file you want to manage and alter its manual security rating by selecting the menu options: Security Rated > Blacklist, Orangelist, Unclassified, or Whitelist.
  • No labels
