Policies typically reside in the Policies Tab of the Security Manager Console. Policies are a set of criteria or operations to be applied to Computers. Some policies are performed on the Arellia Management Server (AMS) itself. Many policies are scheduled, although some work on data triggers. Policies typically reside in the Policies Tab of the Security Manager Console.
Examples of policies:
- The Application Control Solution installs a number of application policies to manage privileges under the Application Control folder.
- There are also a number of server-specific policies under the Infrastructure folder.
Best Practice: Clone Out-of-Box Policies before Editing
If you need to adjust settings for an out-of-the-box policy that was installed by the AMS or another product, it is best to clone the policy first and make changes to the new copy.
