You can use Executable filters to apply security policies to commonly used applications, such as instant messaging applications, browsers, mail clients, media players and Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Executable Filters are powerful because they are built on "and" logic and not "or" logic, meaning that parameters for any type of executable can be filtered (excluded or included) cumulatively. This also enables you to target specific versions of applications.

Executable Filters

In the Executable Filters folder you can find built-in filters for the following types of applications:

  • Common Updaters

  • Instant Messaging Applications

  • Internet Browsers

  • Mail Clients

  • Media Players

  • MS Office Suite

  • System Utilities

Every parameter in an executable filter is available for filtering and can be specified in the filter's settings as shown in the following screenshot.
