File Scanning Policies

File scanning policies scan managed computers for application file types (Example: ITunes files within Windows directories) and reports back to the Notification Server.

To create a file scanning policy:

Go to Arellia Security Manager and click on the Policies tab
Select Policies > Arellia > File Inventory > File Scanning Policies
Right-click on File Scanning Policies and select New > File Scanning Policy

In the right pane, specify settings for the following fields.

Item	Description
Name	The name of the policy.
Description	A description of the policy.
Apply To	The collection of computers the policy applies to.
Interval	Specify how often the policy runs.
File Specification(s)	Specify which files should be scanned by the policy.
Reporting Filter(s)	Refines the search to which files to report when scanned. by the policy.
Per file delay (ms)	Specify a time (in milliseconds) to wait between processing files.
