Installation and Planning of the Arellia Management Server
Design
The Arellia Thycotic Management Server (AMS) TMS) runs on Windows-based servers. It comprises a number of extensible .NET components that run on Internet Information Services (IIS), along with agent components that install as a service on the managed computers.
The server utilizes Microsoft SQL Server as a database. You can install it locally on the AMS TMS or remotely (off-box).

Setup
We recommend you use install the TMS on a dedicated server for AMS, rather than sharing with other services. However, depending on your load, it the TMS will function without issues in a small or test environments as long as the prerequisites are met and do not conflict with other services on the server.
Before You Install the AMS
Before you install the AMS, ensure that your server meets all the requirements.
For all system prerequisites, see Server Requirements.
To install the agent, see Installing the Arellia Management Agent.
