Creating a Policy

Prerequisites
Before you create a policy, you must complete the following steps:
- Import at least one profile. (For instructions on how to import a profile, go to Security configuration profiles.)
- Have at least one computer under management that meets the profile's intended target, and that has completed the Common Platform Enumeration (CPE) analysis task. (For instructions on how to verify, go to Verifying CPE Filter Membership to verify.)
Steps
To create a Security Analysis policy, do the following steps:
- In the Security Manager console, click the Policies tab.
- In the file library in the left pane, navigate to Policies > Arellia > Security Analysis.
- Right-click

- the Security Analysis folder and

- click New > Security Analysis Remediation Policy.
- Enter a name for this policy.
- Select a profile that was imported earlier.

- Click the Apply To button and then click the computer filter described in the previous section.
- Select a scoring model.

- In the Settings section in the right pane, click the Schedule tab and define when the assessment should run.
- Click Save.

Next steps
- Select remediation actions on a per-rule basis before any remediation is performed. (For more information, go to Configure remediation actions).
- After you have defined remediation actions within the policy and gathered the results on the managed computers, remediation tasks must be approved before they will be run. (For more information, go to Approving remediation.)
