Prerequisites

Before you create a policy, you must have the following steps completed:

  1. Have at least one profile imported. (For instructions on how to import a profile, go to Security Configuration Profiles.)
  2. Have at least one computer under management that meets the profile's intended target, and that has completed the Common Platform Enumeration (CPE) analysis task. (For instructions on how to verify, go to Verifying CPE Filter Membership to verify.)

Steps

To create a Security Analysis Policy, do the following steps:

  1. In the Security Manager Console, click the Policies tab.
  2. In the file library in the left pane, navigate to Policies > Arellia > Security Analysis.
  3. Right-click the Security Analysis folder and click New > Security Analysis Remediation Policy.
  4. Enter a name for this policy.
  5. Select a profile that was imported earlier. 
  6. Click the Apply To button and then click the computer filter described in the previous section.
  7. Select a scoring model.
  8. In the Settings section in the right pane, click the Schedule tab and define when the assessment should run.
  9. Click Save.

  • Select remediation actions on a per-rule basis before any remediation is performed. (For more information, go to Configuring Remediation Actions).
