This document contains information about upgrading the Arellia Management Server (AMS) from a previous version to the current version.
Required Components
If you upgrade to the latest version of AMS, then you must first upgrade some Microsoft SQL Server Data Tier Components to the June 2014 or later version. Failure to do so may result in installation errors (see Upgrade Arellia Management Server below).
- Microsoft SQL Server Data-Tier Application Framework requires Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types, and Microsoft SQL Server Transact-SQL ScriptDom (SQLSysCLRTypes.msi and SQLDOM.msi) both of which are available on the Microsoft® SQL Server® 2014 Feature Pack site. These support older versions of SQL Server as well (not just SQL Server 2014). If you are on an x64 machine, you will need to install both the x64 and x86 versions of the MSIs above.
- Once those components are installed, install the Microsoft® SQL Server® Data-Tier Application Framework (June 2014).
To see instructions for offline upgrades of the AMS instance, go to Upgrading an AMS instance that is not Internet connected.
On your Arellia Management Server:
- Open a browser to http://localhost/Ams/Setup
- Click the Setup link.
- Select the packages to upgrade and click Install.
- After the AMS product installations have completed you will guided back to the console.
