This document tells you how to complete the Arellia Management Server (AMS) installation if your target machine is connected to the internet.
If your target machine is not connected to the Internet, then go to Offline Installation for installation instructions.
Install Microsoft Web Platform Installer
After you have reviewed and followed the instructions in both Server Requirements and Database Requirements, install Microsoft Web Platform Installer (Web PI) by doing the following steps:
Open Web PI and click Options in the bottom right corner of the window.
Important
You must open the Options menu directly in the Web PI, not from the Internet Information Services (IIS) (see Error saving Web Platform Settings in IIS for more information).
In the Change Options dialog box, in the Customer Feeds field, type http://nuget.arellia.com/WebPlatformFeed and then click the Add Feed button.
Note
The following steps 3 and 4 are required only if you want the Web PI to set up the SQL database and login. If you enable remote database support, then the Web PI will require your SQL Server System Administrator (SA) account password to proceed.
- (This step is optional.) Under Remote Database support, select the Click to enable remote database support option if you want the Web PI to provision your database configuration.
- (This step is optional.) In the Remote database server name field, enter the name of your SQL Server. ( Note: If your SQL Server is local, then enter localhost.)
- Close the Change Options dialog box by clicking OK.
- Close the Web PI.
- Open the IIS Manager.
- In the IIS Manager, in the left sidebar directory, click Default Web Site.
In the Default Web Site Home pane, scroll down and double-click Web Platform Installer.
Important
You must open the Web PI from within the IIS Manager to install the AMS.
In the Web PI, click the Arellia tab.
If your SQL database has already been created
If your SQL database has already been created, then click the following link to proceed with the steps.
