Arellia can integrate with 7.1 and 7.5 Symantec Management Platforms and pull in existing resource filters to be used for Arellia Policy targets.
Steps:
- Navigate to Configuration > Foreign Software Systems > User Credentials
- Select the Default User Credential and verify that those user credentials that have access to the Symantec Management Platform Server
- Navigate to Foreign Software Systems > Foreign Software System Types > Symantec Management Platform
- Select New > Symantec Management Platform instance
- Name the Symantec Management Platform and provide the URL of the Altiris console and click OK
- Navigate to Tasks > Server Tasks > Foreign Systems
- Right-click and select New > SMP Synchronize Collections Task
- Select the SMP Instance to Synchronize with
- After the task has been created you can create a schedule for it or run it now
- After the task has run, navigate to Resources > Resource Filters (blue button in the bottom left)
- Right-click Symantec Management Platform and select New > SMP Collection
- Change the SMP instance in the New SMP Collection resource filter to use the recently created SMP Instance
- Then use the Foreign Collection parameter to choose an existing filter from the remote SMP server.
- After the new SMP Collection filter has been saved, it can be used for targeting Arellia Policies to the same computers defined on the Symantec Management Platform.
