Currently disclosed passwords represent risk in your environment, but you can significantly tighten your environment's security by randomizing and automating the cycling of administrative passwords. After you have viewed the currently disclosed passwords, you need to randomize those account passwords. This document shows you how to randomize disclosed passwords.

Import the Configuration Feed

Arellia provides a workflow policy you can imported via Data Feeds by doing the following steps:

  1. For instructions on data feeds, go to Using Data Feeds.
  2. Download and import the configuration feed Local Security Solution - Recycle Currently Disclosed Passwords.

Run the Password Recycle Task

The Password Recycle task controls how often Disclosed passwords Query - Workflow recycling and Randomize Disclosed Password Task are executed.

  1. In the Security Manager Console, click the Tasks tab.
  2. In the file library in the left pane, navigate to Tasks > Workflow > Automation > Workflow > Password Recycling Tasks.
  3. In the right pane under Schedules, click New Schedule to set a schedule on the Password Recycle Task to automate how often passwords are recycled in the environment. (For details about how to set up a task schedule, go to Calendar Options.)
  4. Under Settings click Save.
