This chapter details the installation requirements and procedures for Application Control Solution.

Prerequisites

The following software must be installed before installing Application Control Solution on Notification Server:

  • Altiris® Notification Server™ 7.1 SP3 (or later). For information on installation, see Notification Server Help.

Installing Application Control Solution

You can use Symantec Installation Manager to install Application Control Solution.

To install Application Control Solution

  • In Symantec Installation Manager, click Install new products.
  • Click Arellia Application Control.
  • Follow the installation wizard instructions.

Uninstalling Application Control Solution

Symantec Installation Manager lets you uninstall Application Control Solution.

To uninstall Application Control Solution

  • In Symantec Installation Manager, in the list of installed programs, click Arellia Application Control.
  • Click Uninstall.
  • Click Close.

Licensing

Each Altiris product comes with a 7-day trial license that is installed by default. You can register and obtain a 30-day evaluation license through the Altiris Web site at www.altiris.com. You can also purchase a full product license through the Altiris Web site.

To view your current license

  • In Symantec Installation Manager, click Add/Update licenses.
  • Click Close.
  • Click Close to close Symantec Installation Manager.
