AMS Administrators Membership Required

You must have Full Access rights to modify or clone a security descriptor; AMS Administrators members have Full Access rights. If you are not a member of the AMS Administrators role, then contact a member of that group to apply these changes.

To grant or revoke access to an item within AMS, assign a different Security Descriptor to the item (or folder).

  1. Locate the item in the Security Manager Console.
  2. In the left pane folder library, right-click the item.
  3. Click Properties.
     
  4. In the Properties dialog box that opens, click the Security tab.
  5. Click the Security Descriptor radio button.
  6. Click the AMS Default Security Descriptor link.
     
  7. In the Select Resource dialog box, double-click the security descriptor that applies the desired rights.
     
  8. In the Properties dialog box, click Save to apply the changes.

Assigning Rights to Referenced Items

Many items reference other related items and require that you adjust the security of those related items in addition to the item itself. For example, a report references a query; so you need to adjust the rights to both the report and the query to modify the access properly.
