Synchronize active directory

The Synchronize Active Directory Task is used to import Active Directory users and groups for use in different policies. To create a task, do the following steps:

  1. Go to Arellia Security Manager and click on the Tasks tab.
  2. Right-click Jobs and Tasks > Arellia > Directory Services and select New > Task.
  3. Click on the Arellia > Directory Services > Synchronize Active Directory task template.



  4. Click on the Click to Select link for Active Directory and select an Active Directory domain resource that has been defined.
  5. Click on the Click to Select link for Directory Partner and select a Active Directory domain controller to synchronize.
  6. Click the OK button to create the task.

Scheduling the synchronize active directory task

The Synchronize Active Directory Task should be scheduled to run regularly to import Active Directory groups and users.

  1. Click the New Schedule button
  2. Configure the synchronization schedule and click the Schedule button

The first Active Directory synchronization may take a long time depending on the number of resources to import.
