Importing Profiles
Importing Profiles
Profiles are used to define the desired configuration state and are used within policies to target managed computers. These profiles are expressed in the form of a Extensible Configuration Checklist Document Format (XCCDF) version 1.1.4 document.
To import this content, you must have either a standalone XCCDF document in the form of an XML file or a SCAP-Expressed Data Stream in the form of a ZIP file containing the XCCDF content, CPE definitions, CPE dictionary and OVAL compliance definitions. Visit http://scap.nist.gov/specifications/xccdf more information on these formats.
Once you have obtained these files, you can import them directly from your local file system.
Steps
- Click Import Profile on the bottom left side of the Profiles tab in the Actions pane.
- Select the file(s) to import by clicking the Browse... button.
- This will bring up a file chooser dialog to select the files from your local computer. They will be listed along with a status to indicate progress.
- Click Import.
- As the files are finished importing, you will see them complete in the status column. The window will close automatically once all files have been uploaded.
This process will immediately upload these files to the server then start a background process that may take some time to complete. See the What to Expect section in Download Profiles for more information on what to expect and where the profiles will appear.
