Apply ActiveX Group Policy Settings via Arellia
Arellia can push out ActiveX Installer Service Group Policy settings for the automatic elevation of approved ActiveX controllers for standard users. This can be done by doing the following:
- Navigate to the Policies tab and right-clicking on the Group Policy folder
- Select New > Group Policy Settings > Active-X Group Policy Settings
- Name the new Group Policy Setting
- Configure the ActiveX Installer Service Trusted Zone behavior or the Other Sites option to allow specific websites to install ActiveX controls. See https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd631688%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
- Save the Settings.
- Right-click on the General folder and select New > General Scheduled Client Task
- Name the new Scheduled task to Apply ActiveX Group Policy Settings
- Click on the Client Command and select Local Security > Apply Group Policy Setting
- Click Ok
- Set the Group Policy Setting to the new Group Policy setting in Step 3
- Set the Policy Schedule and Resource Target
- Enable and Save the new policy
Agents will then apply the ActiveX Group Policy settings on a schedule and standard users will then be able to use ActiveX controls on approved websites.
