How to prevent User Account Control (UAC) prompts
How to prevent User Account Control (UAC) prompts
Important
As of ACS 7.1 specific policies to bypass UAC is not required.
Issue
When running programs and some system configuration items, Windows Vista and Windows 7 with prompt the user to confirm and/or enter an administrator password. In many cases IT has determined that the user should be authorized to execute some of these functions without the interferance of the UAC prompts. ACS can assist with this by supressing UAC prompts for selected processes while still allowing UAC to be active and protect those functions IT would still like to protect. This solution provides more User satisfaction because they don't get the prompts with common things they should be able to do.
Resolution
Use the Application Initiation Policy type to prevent UAC prompts.
