Upgrade from 7.5 to 8.0

The upgrade from Arellia 7.5 to 8.0 is extremely easy. The server is upgraded through the Arellia Management Server and the agents are upgraded by deploying the latest agent MSI files.

Server upgrade

  1. Open http://localhost/Ams/ on the server or http://serverName/Ams/ on a remote computer
  2. Select the Setup tab and then click on the Upgrade button for the Arellia Management Server Core Solution 
  3. After the upgrade on the Arellia Management Server has completed, the first step of the Arellia Management Server upgrade has completed.
  4. Click on the Installed Products tab 
  5. Then click on the Repair button for the Arellia Management Server Core Solution to complete the second step of the Arellia Management Server Core Solution
    1. Note: If the repair fails because of this error "Could not find object 'Ams.Agent.Registration' or you do not have permission." or "Failed to deploy package" then you need to run the Repair one more time.
  6. After the second step of the Arellia Management Server Core Solution has completed, click on the Setup tab to select the solutions to be upgraded
  7. After the solutions have been upgraded, the server side upgrade to Arellia 8.0 is complete

Agent upgrade

The agent upgrade can be completed by deploying the 8.0 Arellia Agents.
