Application Discovery
Application discovery is a process through which the applications installed and used on individual computers and networks are identified and collected. Application discovery is also used as a security measure to identify any unwanted or unverified applications running or residing in any part of the network.
There are two approaches to performing file inventory: Discovery of only those applications that require admin rights, and discovery of all the applications on a computer.
