Apply group policy via Thycotic
Thycotic Local Security Solution (LSS) can import group policy definitions and deploy those settings to domain and non-domain computers. The following will walk you through importing the local group policy settings, modifying those settings, and deploying them through a task.
Feature introduced in Arellia 8.0.
To import local group policy definitions, do the following steps:
- Navigate to Tasks > Infrastructure Scheduled Activities > Import Local Group Policy Definitions
- Right-click on Import Local Group Policy Definitions and select Run
- After the task has completed click on the Policies tab
- Navigate to Policies > Group Policy
- Right-click on the Group Policy folder and select New > Group Policy Settings > Group Policy Settings
- Name the new group policy settings and then select the group policy definition you are using
- After the new group policy setting has been saved, you can configure each of the rules by clicking on the link in the Settings column
- After the group policy setting has been configured, you can create additional group policy settings
- Next navigate to Tasks > Client Tasks
- Right-click on Client Tasks and select New > Client Tasks > Remote Command Client Task
- Select the Apply Group Policy Setting under Client Commands > Arellia Agent and save the new task
- Then select the group policy setting to be applied and save the task
- The task can then be executed on domain and non-domain Arellia managed computers
