LSS Error: Provision failed 8007055b

Issue

When attempting to provision a Local Group the OS event log shows the error "Provision failed 8007055b : Cannot perform this operation on built-in accounts. (win32 , Error 1371 - ERROR_SPECIAL_ACCOUNT)."

Solution

Ensure that you are not trying to add a local group into another local group. For example, if a built-in user who is not an administrator attempts to provision a Local Group as an administrator, then they'll get the error.
