Recover LSS passwords

Issue

If the Arellia Management Server (AMS) is unavailable, how do I recover Local Security Solution (LSS) passwords?

Solution

There is no utility that will allow you to access passwords when the AMS is unavailable, as that would compromise security.

It is a best practice to have a reporting server that you can access when the AMS is unavailable where the LSS information is replicated. 

If no reporting server is available, then you can access LSS passwords by installing a new AMS and restoring a backup of the DB.
