How to use the Random Password Task
Here are the details on how to use the Random Password Task
- Create a new task to randomize the password. The details are in the screenshot.
- Just right-click on the Local Security folder and create a new task of the Randomize Local User Account Password type.
- Then make any changes desired to the options and the "Save Changes" button will be active.
- Options details
- If the account being managed is the built-in Administrator account but has been renamed please still select "Standard" and "Administrator". LSS knows the account by the RID and no matter the name (even if there were many different renames in the environment) it will change the password of the built-in Administrator account.

- Then right-click on that task in the left-hand tree and the menu will come up like is shown in the screen shot and schedule the task.
- Pick the computer and the schedule and then it should execute on the client machine.
- Make sure that the option to log password at server before change is selected. Then very shortly (assuming the task infrastructure is working which it should in the SMP 7 environment) the task should run on that machine and the password will be changed and logged on the server.
