Reset LSS on a single machine

Scenario

Desire to reset and test LSS immediately on one machine.

Action

  • Stop the SMP/Altiris NS agent.
  • Open the registry editor and locate the LocalSecurityAgent key under HKLM\Software\Altiris\Altiris Agent.
  • Delete the key (which will delete everything under it of course).
  • Restart the SMP/Altiris NS agent.

LSS will see that it has no history and will request any information it needs from the SMP/NS server and process any policies as soon as possible after the Agent start.
